Solid-State Transformer (SST) is composed of power-electronic converters, a high-frequency transformer, and semiconductor devices. By means of high-frequency switching, it enables voltage transformation and high-efficiency power transfer. The SST converts medium- and high-voltage AC or DC into 240–800 V DC, eliminating the need for traditional multi-stage conversion. It is suitable for data center power supply, DC distribution, and renewable energy collection/aggregation (e.g., PV and wind), as well as applications such as EV fast charging and energy storage interfacing where compactness, high efficiency, and controllability are required.
